Announcement: Organizational Changes at ONE Latin America

Ocean Network Express (ONE), the sixth largest container carrier in the world, announces important organizational changes in its top management in the Latin American region, marking the beginning of the 2024 fiscal year (April 2024 to March 2025). With farewells and welcomes, the company is preparing for a new chapter in its journey.

After six years as president of ONE Latin America, Peter Duifhuizen is retiring, ending a cycle of 48 years of dedication to the shipping industry, a legacy that encompasses not only ONE, but also legacy MOL and other companies. ONE is grateful for his efforts, which have been instrumental in positioning the company competitively in the region. Under his leadership, ONE Latin America started operations in April 2018 and expanded its existing service portfolio with new services to strategic regions such as Europe and the USA. Excellence in Customer Service and digitalization for sustainable and reliable services have been high on the agenda over the past 6 years. 

Colin de Souza, who previously held the position of Regional Head in South Asia, has been chosen to succeed Peter Duifhuizen as President of the region. He will officially begin his activities on May 6th, bringing with him his vast experience and vision to continue driving ONE's success in Latin America.

Other important changes have taken place in the positions of Country Heads for Brazil and Mexico. Gilberto Santos, previously Country Head of Brazil, has taken up the position of Senior Vice President of Global Commercial and Service Management at ONE in Singapore. Artur Bezerra will take up the position in Brazil, coming from the same previous position in Mexico. Finally, Paulo Biazotti will be the new Country Head of ONE Mexico. Prior to his new position, Biazotti held the role of Regional Vice President Marketing & Commercial South Asia, stationed in Singapore.

 

Meet Colin de Souza, new president of Ocean Network Express Latin America

Colin de Souza, a Dutchman, is a seasoned leader in the global shipping and logistics industry, with more than three decades of experience in the market. For six years, he held the position of Regional Head for the South Asia region at Ocean Network Express (ONE), where he was a fundamental element in developing and executing strategies to boost growth and operational efficiency. He has now taken on the role of President of Latin America at the company. 

His career includes strategic roles at MOL (Singapore) Pte Ltd., as Regional Director for Southeast Asia and Oceania, and Senior Vice President for European business. Previously, he accumulated extensive experience in leadership positions at MOL (Europe) B.V. and P&O Nedlloyd. 

With a degree in Science and diplomas in Business Administration and Computer Programming, Colin also participated in the Singapore Business Leaders Program, honing his leadership and management skills. 

His commitment is to drive the success of Ocean Network Express and lead teams in pursuit of operational excellence and sustainable growth in a globally competitive environment. Colin is also a very involved leader in the company's decarbonization actions, seeking to reduce the environmental impact of operations.
