Bolivia Intermodal: ONE’s New Inland Service By Truck

We are pleased to share the details of Ocean Network Express Latin America's new inland service: Bolivia Intermodal. Starting on January 1, 2024, the service will operate by inland truck to import and export containers to and from Bolivia.

When exporting, all customs procedures are carried out at the client's factory and the cargo is then nationalized for shipment. 

In the case of imports, the cargo must always be cleared through customs in Bolivia, taking into account the three alternatives below:

The ONE customer can choose to complete the import at the customs office in Bolivia and transport the cargo, at their own expense, to the factory. In this case it will be considered CY/CY.

The ONE customer can choose to transport the cargo to the factory with ONE, even after the BL has not been issued including this service. In this case, the additional cost of road transportation by truck can be paid directly to Mercator Bolívia S.A.

The customer can choose transportation to the ONE factory when negotiating the freight. In this case, the amount will be charged directly by ONE via B/L and will be considered as CY/Door.
