SAFETY MEASURES FOR CONTAINERS EQUIPPED WITH FLEXITANK

Customer ONE,

We would like to inform you about the implementation of new safety measures by the BTP – Brasil Terminal Portuário. Due to recent incidents involving damage to containers with flexitanks, which have caused operational impacts at the port and compromised the safety of vessels, personnel, and the environment, the terminal will adopt enhanced protocols for the handling and storage of this type of cargo. These measures will take effect as of today.

As established by international regulations (ISO, IMO/CSC/1972, MARPOL), using a flexitank inside a dry box container changes the original equipment conditions, requiring special care and procedures.

As of June 2, 2025, the following guidelines have been established:

  1.  Clear identification: every container with a flexitank must have visible and standardized external labeling.

ONE and the partner terminal are also implementing additional safety measures. Our goal is to make operations even safer and more efficient, ensuring the integrity of your cargo and the predictability of our processes. We count on your collaboration and partnership to ensure every step runs as smoothly as possible.
