UPDATE#9 NOTICE OF SURCHARGE: LOW WATER SURCHARGE (LWS) POSTPONEMENT

ONE Customer,

This notice serves as an update regarding the Low Water Surcharge (LWS) applicable to/from Brazil (Manaus and Porto Velho Ports). Please be informed that due to the slower-than estimated decrease in water levels on the Amazon River, we are again postponing the implementation of the Low Water Surcharge (LWS). The effective date is being moved from November 01st to November 15th, 2025.

The surcharge will be calculated based on the impacts of the drought on operational and logistical conditions, requiring adjustments in operations, including transport capacity limitations, additional terminal expenses, and the hiring of complementary services essential to ensure cargo is delivered safely and efficiently to its destination.

VALIDITY: The surcharge will remain in effect until further notice, depending on logistics scenarios and river conditions. ONE will continue to monitor river conditions and, if they change, a new notice will be issued.

The LWS will be applicable to/from Brazil (Manaus and Porto Velho Ports) due to the reduction in water levels caused by the drought. The temporary surcharge will be applied across all trade lanes and services and will remain valid until further notice.

• ONE B/L freight Rules:
  • For Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) regulated trades lanes: Cargo Receiving Date
  • Non-FMC regulated trades lanes: FPS ETD of the first loading ports

Effective Date: 

• Non-FMC regulated trades: November 15th, 2025
• FMC regulated trades*, Canada: November 15th, 2025
